Billy, I really liked what you wrote about your career. Reading and listening to the songs at the same time was a trip back in time (even though I didn’t live it, after all, I was born in 1985). Anyway, some questions, please:
1 – What does “SNAZ” mean? In 2006, here in Curitiba, Brazil, my friend and I founded a band to play classic rock (and mainly Nazareth) and some of our own songs. Well, and we put the name BANDA SNAZ. We are big fans.
2 – Another point, when talking about Sound Elixir, you speak very badly of the song Where Are you Now. But, this song was very successful in Brazil (I love it), do you really hate this song? Again, for me, it is beautiful, I bet the version that the guy from the Philippines played on the cruise was also great (ok, I think I overreacted here, it must have been shit).
3 – The last one. About the concerts in Brazil, in some photos you appear with a T-shirt written “Brazamanaz”, tell me more about this T-shirt. Who gave that name? what else have you written on it? Do you still have it?
*Sorry my english, I had to use the translator.
Regards,

Firstly, “Snaz” is a shortened title of our 1981 live album which was actually meant to be called “It’s Naz” which is also a shortened way of saying “It Is Naz” meaning “It Is Nazareth”.
(Hey. Nobody said it had to make sense!)
As for “Where Are You Now” I wouldn’t say I hate the song but I wasn’t very happy about the way we recorded it on “Sound Elixir”.
When Darrell and I wrote the song, we imagined it to be done heavier which is why I re-recorded it on my solo album “Growing Up Too Fast”.
I know it is popular in Brazil and elsewhere. In fact I understand it is one of Nazareth’s most streamed songs on Spotify so I am wrong and you are right to like it, thank you.“Brazamanaz” was the name we gave to our tour of your country in 1990. I think it was Pete Agnew who came up with the idea of adding the letter “B” to “Razamanaz” as it made good sense and was also funny, no?
I no longer have any of the T shirts but I remember it said “Brazamanaz, Nazareth December 1990 Christmas Tour”Finally, thank you for liking my website and please do not apologise for your English. It is very good but perhaps you can also speak Scottish?
Best regards and stay safe my friend.
Billy.

About “Snaz”, yes, we love this album. And the abbreviation makes sense, besides being a great band name, doesn’t it?
Oh man, your version on “Growing Up Too Fast” is also great. (Wow! What a killer guitar solo). I understand your point here and you are right, after all, together with Darrel they had an idea about this song.
Yes, “Brazamanaz” is an excellent idea and it’s funny. Another good name for a Nazareth cover band in Brazil (I hope someone does that)
About me speak Scottish, well, would it be “Gàidhlig na h-Albann”?? Just kidding. But, my dream is to visit Scotland, maybe one day.
So “Lang May Yer Lum Reek” (Thanks google for that – scottish expressions)
Thanks Billy.
